Opportunities are available for professionals specializing in visual impairment and orthopedic impairment education within a school setting in Westminster, CO. The primary focus includes providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, including telehealth services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored educational programs for students with visual impairments and orthopedic impairments.
- Conducting telehealth sessions to support students remotely.
- Collaborating with educational teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Providing orientation and mobility training to enhance students' independence and confidence.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress to ensure educational goals are met.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist.
- Experience with telehealth methods in an educational environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies for students with visual and orthopedic impairments.
- Ability to develop and execute individualized learning plans.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Position details:
