Job Description

A specialized teaching opportunity is available for professionals skilled in educating students with visual impairments through telehealth services. This contract role focuses on delivering instruction and consultative support to students across multiple school sites in Leesburg, Georgia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct instructional services and consults to approximately eight visually impaired students.
  • Serving four students weekly with specialized interventions tailored to visual impairment needs.
  • Collaborating with educational teams to support Individualized Education Programs (IEP), particularly for students using braille and those who are totally blind.
  • Coordinating services across 4-5 school locations, ensuring accessibility and consistency.
  • Working alongside designated support personnel such as paraprofessionals or healthcare aides, supplied by the district, to facilitate services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Georgia Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students, including those who are blind and using braille.
  • Ability to deliver both direct instruction and consultative support efficiently.
  • Comfort with telehealth delivery models, with a preference for on-site presence while being open to virtual options.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage services across multiple locations and schedules.

Schedule and Logistics:

  • Approximately 5 hours per week, averaging 2 hours per day.
  • Services will span 4-5 different school settings within the district.
  • Start date aligned with the next school year calendar.
