Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support students from 5th through 12th grade in Massachusetts. This contract position spans the school year, providing specialized instruction to visually impaired students via telehealth, ensuring access to essential educational resources and tailored learning experiences in a K-12 school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver remote instruction to students with visual impairments using telehealth methodologies.
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum materials to accommodate visual impairments.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support student success.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Teaching Certificate with endorsement for Teachers of the Visually Impaired.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a school-based environment delivering services to visually impaired students.
  • Proficient in telehealth platforms and remote teaching strategies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently while managing student caseloads.

Location:

  • Remote position serving students in Massachusetts.

Schedule:

  • Part-time hours during the school year.
