Georgia Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired Position (Fully Virtual)
Location: School District in Georgia
Schedule: Full-Time 37.5 Hours
Start Date: 26/27School Year
About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide virtual educational services to students with visual impairments. The ideal candidate is committed to helping students achieve academic independence through individualized instruction, collaboration with educational teams, and the use of assistive technology.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct virtual instruction to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress.
- Teach compensatory skills, Braille literacy, assistive technology, and independent learning strategies as appropriate.
- Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Active state Visual Impairment Certification or endorsement.
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely.
Preferred
- Experience providing virtual instruction.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and Braille instruction.
- Experience with K-12 school settings.
