Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to adapt learning materials and techniques for varied student needs
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to partner with educational teams, families, and related service providers
- Understanding of specialized instructional technologies and Braille
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
- Adapt classroom materials and curriculums to ensure accessibility and engagement
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and update learning plans
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff
- Provide training for staff and families on best practices and assistive technology
- Advocate for students needs and support their integration into the broader school environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of service delivery and student goals
