Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Experience working with children and youth with visual impairments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
  • Ability to consult and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be willing to travel within the district; access to reliable transportation is required

What Youll Do:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, tailoring instruction to individual needs
  • Develop and implement goals for individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Assess student abilities, track progress, and document outcomes
  • Educate and collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations, modifications, and accessibility tools
  • Empower students to cultivate independence and self-advocacy skills
  • Travel between school sites to deliver services as assigned
