Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with children and youth with visual impairments preferred
- Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
- Ability to consult and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Must be willing to travel within the district; access to reliable transportation is required
What Youll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, tailoring instruction to individual needs
- Develop and implement goals for individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student abilities, track progress, and document outcomes
- Educate and collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations, modifications, and accessibility tools
- Empower students to cultivate independence and self-advocacy skills
- Travel between school sites to deliver services as assigned
