A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher to support students in a school setting located in Spring, TX. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet evolving needs
- Serve as a resource and advocate for visually impaired students within the school community
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or credentials as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI)
- Experience working with visually impaired children in an educational setting
- Familiarity with instructional techniques for vision loss, including Braille literacy and adaptive technology
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
- Ability to tailor lessons to meet diverse learning styles and disabilities
