Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students within a dynamic school district located in Spring, TX. This contract position spans from ASAP through July 3, 2026, providing vital educational services to visually impaired learners across multiple sites in the district.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver itinerant TVI services across the districts K-12 schools, addressing individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement specialized instructional plans tailored to visually impaired students.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to promote student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance learning experiences.
  • Travel across district sites to serve assigned caseload efficiently during a 32.5-hour workweek.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license is required.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, Braille, and assistive technologies.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a districtwide itinerant caseload.

Location:

  • Position is onsite, serving multiple schools within the Spring, TX area.
