Job Description

This opportunity is a contract position serving 20-23 students with diverse needs, and offers you a chance to deliver specialized support in an onsite capacity. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, ensuring the ability to build lasting connections and see real progress in your students lives.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or relevant certifications
  • Proven experience working with children with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to tailor instructional approaches to meet the unique learning requirements of each student
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and accessible learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, utilizing both traditional and assistive technology methods
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to adapt lesson materials and ensure accessibility
  • Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals for each student, tracking progress and making adjustments as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date records and reports in accordance with school and district requirements
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing professional development
