Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with current credentials
  • Experience working with K-12 students in educational or support settings
  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive learning materials
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • A passion for fostering educational equity and inclusive classrooms

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess students visual abilities and adapt curriculum materials as needed
  • Design and deliver individualized instruction consistent with IEP goals
  • Teach Braille, orientation and mobility, and use of specialized technology
  • Consult regularly with teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress
  • Advocate for student accessibility needs within the school environment
