Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active DOE Certification required
• Experience with Braille instruction and knowledge of Assistive Technology
• Familiarity with accessing assistive technology through the Federal Quota program is a plus
• Previous work in school settings supporting K-12 students with visual impairments preferred
• Proficiency navigating the TN Pulse platform for IEP processes
• Willingness to complete required fingerprinting/background checks before start

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services to visually impaired students in both general and special education settings
• Travel between schools within the district, collaborating with site staff to support student success
• Participate in IEP meetings, working alongside multidisciplinary teams for optimal student progress
• Train and coach school staff and families to ensure consistent use of Braille and accessible technology
• Customize instructional materials and strategies to foster student independence and inclusion
• Utilize Chromebooks to facilitate student access to curriculum and resources
