Key Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) license required
- Proven experience or background working with visually impaired students in educational settings
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and adaptive technologies
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and educational staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials to meet individual needs
- Collaborate with district staff to develop and implement effective IEPs
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources for student success
- Travel between assigned schools within the region to deliver services across various grade levels (specific caseload and assignments to be determined)
- Utilize creative methods and adaptive technology to maximize students' independence and learning
- Maintain timely documentation and communication with education teams and families
