The position is based near Seguin, TX, with assignments in the New Braunfels area.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and active Texas Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required
- Background working with school-aged children, especially those who are visually impaired, is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support to students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with each students needs
- Consult with educational teams, families, and other specialists to promote student access and independence
- Adapt classroom materials and teaching strategies according to best practices for visual impairments
- Track progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Demonstrate flexibility by working 2-3 days per week on a part-time, contract basis
