Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• State teaching credentials applicable for the position
• Experience working with school-aged children who have visual impairments
• Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
• Ability to adapt to diverse classroom settings and individualized student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, both individually and in groups
• Develop, adapt, and implement educational materials and techniques suitable for visually impaired learners
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure access and progress in the curriculum
• Participate in IEP meetings, document student progress, and contribute to the development of individualized education plans
• Train staff and support families on the use of assistive technologies and accommodations
• Maintain compliance with school and state educational policies
