Empower students with visual impairments to achieve their fullest potential in an engaging educational environment! A part-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the upcoming 20262027 school year. This role is based onsite near Seattle, Washington, working with a supportive caseload of eight students, delivering individualized instruction and support in a vibrant school setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Washington state TVI certification (required)
- Fingerprinting through OSPI required prior to start
- Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments in school settings
- Strong skills in adapting and modifying curriculum for accessibility
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive classroom
What Youll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative vision services tailored to each students needs, averaging 15 hours weekly
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students on caseload
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to promote student participation and success across settings
- Adapt instructional materials, assistive technology, and environmental supports as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of services and student progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Deliver training and guidance on accessibility to staff and parents when needed
