Job Description

As a trusted resource for students with visual impairments, you'll work closely with administrators, general and special education staff, and families to promote the best possible learning outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Educator Certification
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
  • Demonstrated expertise working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in school-based settings preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials for accessibility
  • Conduct assessments to determine student needs and progress
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Educate and consult with teachers, staff, and families on strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
  • Ensure legal compliance with all relevant state and federal special education requirements
  • Keep detailed records and participate in meetings related to student services

Working Dates & Details:

  • Contract position running from August 3, 2026, to May 26, 2027 (dates subject to change)
  • Located near Glendale, AZ, serving students in nearby school communities
  • Full-time hours for the duration of the academic year
