Inspire student success and make a meaningful difference as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired with this full-time contract opportunity near Glendale, AZ. As a trusted resource for students with visual impairments, you'll work closely with administrators, general and special education staff, and families to promote the best possible learning outcomes.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
- Demonstrated expertise working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and materials for accessibility
- Conduct assessments to determine student needs and progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Educate and consult with teachers, staff, and families on strategies, accommodations, and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Ensure legal compliance with all relevant state and federal special education requirements
- Keep detailed records and participate in meetings related to student services
Working Dates & Details:
- Contract position running from August 3, 2026, to May 26, 2027 (dates subject to change)
- Located near Glendale, AZ, serving students in nearby school communities
- Full-time hours for the duration of the academic year
