Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligibility for state credentials
  • Prior experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a school environment preferred
  • Proficiency in Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive methodologies
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with staff, families, and related service providers
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Passion for encouraging student growth and inclusion

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum
  • Adapt classroom materials and environments using specialized tools and resources
  • Assess student abilities and collaborate to develop, review, and revise IEPs
