Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) on a part-time, contract basis. Work closely with K-12 students, providing essential instruction and specialized support to help them thrive academically and personally. This rewarding position offers a flexible 2-3 day work week, allowing you to achieve work-life balance while making a meaningful impact.
Qualifications:
- Active Texas TVI license required
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs
- Collaborative approach when working with other educators, families, and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels
- Develop and implement customized instructional plans and materials
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to create accessible learning environments
- Advocate for students needs and ensure access to appropriate resources and technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and state requirements
