Job Description

Step into an inspiring role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time, onsite assignment focuses on empowering learners with visual impairments and making a lasting impact in their educational journey. In this contract position, youll work closely with students, their families, and school teams to create tailored learning plans, deliver individualized instruction, and help students reach their fullest potential throughout the school year.

What youll bring:

  • Valid Illinois State Licensure (SLI)
  • Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience or strong interest in serving students with visual impairments
  • Ability to develop and adapt teaching materials to different student needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct instructional support for students with visual impairments in a school setting
  • Assessing students needs and abilities to design individualized educational plans
  • Consulting with classroom teachers and support staff on best practices and accommodations
  • Advocating for accessible technology, resources, and classroom modifications
  • Documenting progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Communicating regularly with families to report on progress and address concerns

Compensation for this position ranges from $30.00 to $53.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
