This onsite, contract opportunity runs through May 2027 and is designed for a collaborative, adaptable educator ready to support the academic growth and independence of learners who are blind or visually impaired.

Qualifications:

• Active North Carolina Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and certifications required
• Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a K-12 setting preferred
• Strong communication skills for engaging with students, families, and school staff
• Comfort adapting instructional materials and providing accessible learning tools
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive instruction and support tailored to each students unique needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to ensure inclusive learning experiences
• Adapt curriculum and classroom materials into accessible formats (Braille, tactile graphics, large print, etc.)
• Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Provide orientation and mobility strategies and support as appropriate
• Serve as a resource and advocate for students, helping foster independence and self-advocacy skills
