Make an impact on the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a supportive and inclusive school environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to work directly with a diverse group of 20-23 students, each with unique strengths and learning requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to visually impaired students in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations are implemented effectively
• Assess students functional vision and learning needs to create tailored lesson plans
• Adapt classroom materials and create accessible resources for students with vision impairments
• Maintain ongoing communication with families and the educational team regarding student progress
• Support skill development in orientation, mobility, and daily living where required
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation

Desired Qualifications:

• Active North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure/certification
• Experience with educational strategies and assistive technologies for students with visual impairments
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple student needs and adapt instruction creatively
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
