Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with visual impairments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, specialists, and families
• Ability to assess students' individual needs and adapt instructional materials accordingly
• Familiarity with assistive technology, Braille, and accessible instructional strategies

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
• Provide direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments, both individually and in classroom settings
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to modify curriculum materials for accessibility
• Train students in the use of assistive devices, technology, and orientation and mobility skills as appropriate
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and adaptations provided
• Advocate for student inclusion and equal access to academic and extracurricular activities
