What we're looking for:
- Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license required
- Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired or blind preferred
- Familiarity with adaptive technology and techniques for accessibility
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Flexibility and collaborative spirit to work across K-12 classrooms
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to visually impaired students across elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion
- Adapt lesson materials to Braille, large print, and accessible formats as needed
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and track progress
- Advocate for student accommodations and resources
- Foster independence and confidence, equipping students with skills for academic and daily success
