Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching credential with appropriate certification for Visually Impaired instruction.
• Previous experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive educational materials.
• Ability to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and track student progress.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Collaborative approach, working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to visually impaired students across grade levels, fostering an accessible and engaging learning environment.
• Adapt curriculum materials, teach Braille, and introduce assistive technology to enhance student independence.
• Conduct functional vision assessments and recommend appropriate accommodations.
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goal setting, and monitor progress.
• Offer support, training, and resources to classroom teachers and families to ensure consistent, inclusive practices.
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with all regulations and protocols.
