Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired or related endorsement
  • Experience or training working with K-12 students who are visually impaired
  • Strong understanding of adaptive technology, Braille, and accessible instructional materials
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness in developing individualized educational strategies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement customized lesson plans tailored to students unique needs
  • Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills
  • Partner with classroom teachers, staff, and families to monitor progress and support student success
  • Assess student abilities and document progress toward educational goals
  • Advocate for student needs and contribute expertise to IEP meetings
