Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification for Visually Impaired or related endorsement
- Experience or training working with K-12 students who are visually impaired
- Strong understanding of adaptive technology, Braille, and accessible instructional materials
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in developing individualized educational strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement customized lesson plans tailored to students unique needs
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills
- Partner with classroom teachers, staff, and families to monitor progress and support student success
- Assess student abilities and document progress toward educational goals
- Advocate for student needs and contribute expertise to IEP meetings
