Heres an opportunity to work with a dynamic extended school year (ESY) program, dedicated to serving learners who have significant behavioral and physical disabilities. This summer contract role is suited for experienced educators who thrive in supportive yet structured environments and are committed to fostering independence and growth among their students.
In this position, youll be joining a specialized educational center to support a caseload of 10-15 students, all within one primary school building. The work schedule follows a consistent Monday through Thursday routine, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., totaling 20 hours each weekallowing for rewarding work/life balance throughout the summer session.
Ideal candidates will possess:
Licensure or eligibility as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI/BVI)
Prior experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired
Comfort and skill in settings serving students with severe behavioral and physical disabilities
Strong communication skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Flexibility and a resourceful approach to individualized instruction
Commitment to delivering equitable, high-quality education for all learners
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing tailored instructional strategies for visually impaired students
Collaborating with other educators, therapists, and staff to create supportive learning environments
Tracking progress and preparing required documentation
Providing adapted materials and accessible technology
Communicating regularly with families regarding student achievement and needs
This contract covers the summer ESY period from June 8 through August 4, offering a focused opportunity in a single, well-resourced building.
