Job Description

Desired Qualifications:

  • Illinois State Licensure Interpreter (SLI) required
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or similar role preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for supporting diverse learner populations

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Consult closely with general and special education staff to develop and implement effective IEPs
  • Provide training and resources for staff and families regarding adaptive technology and strategies for the visually impaired
  • Monitor student progress and communicate consistently with families and team members

Compensation for this position ranges from $30.00 to $53.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
