Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instruction in a supportive educational environment. This full-time, onsite position involves serving students with visual impairments, ensuring they receive individualized education tailored to their unique needs. The role is based in Saint Charles, IL, with a contract spanning the current school year (CSY), commencing as soon as possible through the end of the school year (EOSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting teaching methods and materials.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to inform instructional planning.
  • Provide guidance on the use of assistive technology and resources for visually impaired students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Service Learning Instructor (SLI) License.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience and skills working specifically with students who are visually impaired.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Commitment to student-centered educational practices.
