Job Description
A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students with visual impairments in a school setting located in Saint Charles, IL. This onsite contract role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational development of visually impaired students by providing specialized instruction and support throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create effective learning plans
- Assess student progress and modify teaching methods to meet diverse needs
- Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student performance and services
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Learning Impairment (SLI) teaching license with eligibility for a TVI endorsement (PEL)
- Experience working with visually impaired students in a school environment
- Strong knowledge of teaching strategies and accommodations specific to visual impairments
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Commitment to student-centered education and continuous professional development
