Job Description

Inspire students and make a meaningful difference as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired working with K-12 learners near Royston, GA on a contract basis. Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia License as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
  • Experience working with K-12 students preferred
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff
  • Expertise in adaptive techniques and educational tools for visually impaired populations
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and adaptive strategies to K-12 students with visual impairments
  • Consult with and support classroom teachers to modify curriculum and classroom materials
  • Assess student needs and monitor progress to ensure educational goals are being met
  • Prepare individualized lesson plans and maintain accurate student records
  • Advocate for accessible learning, providing recommendations for assistive technology and classroom modifications
  • Provide direct instruction, orientation, and mobility guidance as needed
  • Engage with families, offering resources and updates on student development

Position Details:

  • Contract opportunity
  • Approximate commitment of 6-7 hours per month
  • On-site presence required 1 day per week
