Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired
• Strong understanding of braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Organized, flexible, and passionate about student-centered learning

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments in individual and small group settings
• Adapt instructional materials and utilize specialized equipment to meet student needs
• Support classroom teachers and staff in implementing accommodations and modifications
• Conduct assessments to determine students functional vision and learning media needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise on vision-related services
• Serve as a resource to families, providing strategies to support student success at home and in the classroom
• Maintain accurate records and progress reports in accordance with school policies
