Job Description

A position is available for a part-time Teacher for Blind and Visually Impaired students, serving K-12 learners in Rochester, NY. This contract role offers up to four days per week from Monday to Friday, beginning January 12, 2026, through June 26, 2026. The caseload and specific location details will be determined upon placement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Collaborate with general education staff to support inclusive learning environments.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Utilize appropriate assistive technology and materials to enhance learning.
  • Maintain communication with families and other professionals involved in student care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State teaching license in the area of Blind and Visually Impaired education.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Strong understanding of instructional methods and assistive tools for visual impairments.
  • Ability to manage flexible schedules and varying caseloads.
