Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Demonstrated experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille and assistive technology, including adaptive devices and software
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Flexible, organized, and committed to meeting individual learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional services to students with visual impairments, adapting materials and teaching strategies for accessibility
• Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and participate actively in IEP meetings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to modify classroom materials and environments
• Offer guidance and education to families, empowering them to support their childrens learning
• Recommend and integrate appropriate assistive technology
• Foster a safe and encouraging learning atmosphere where every student feels supported
