This opportunity is for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students within a districtwide itinerant caseload. Serving on-site in Richmond, TX, this contract assignment extends through July 3, 2026, providing consistent, specialized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired learners.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple school sites
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assessing student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet unique learning needs
- Providing training and resources to school personnel on strategies related to visual impairment
- Managing the districtwide itinerant caseload effectively to ensure equitable access to services
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license is required
- Proven experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility tools for visually impaired learners
- Ability to manage a caseload across multiple sites within the district
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse educational teams
Location and Schedule:
- Position based on-site in Richmond, TX
- 32.5 hours per week
- Contract duration from ASAP through July 3, 2026
