Key Qualifications:

• Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license is required
• Demonstrated experience working with students who are visually impaired
• Familiarity with specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Comfortable managing an itinerant caseload and traveling between school sites
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and adapt core curricula for students with visual impairments across the district
• Conduct assessments to identify students educational needs and recommend appropriate accommodations
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Consult on and support the use of assistive technology and orientation/mobility techniques
• Maintain accurate and timely progress documentation
• Provide professional development and resources to educational staff
• Travel to assigned campuses as needed to ensure continuity of service
