Make a meaningful impact supporting students throughout a district as a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired on an onsite, itinerant basis. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and continues through early July 2026, providing stability and the chance to work with a variety of age groups and abilities. Youll collaborate closely with educators and professionals to empower students with visual impairments, implementing specialized instruction tailored to their unique strengths and needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license (required)
- Previous experience working as a TVI or serving students with visual impairments
- Adept at tailoring instruction and adaptive strategies for individual student needs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and specialists
- Ability to organize and manage a districtwide, itinerant caseload efficiently
- Passion for advocacy and inclusion in educational settings
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across the district
- Assess student needs, develop individualized educational plans (IEPs), and monitor progress
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to foster accessible learning environments
- Adapt and create instructional materials using accessible technology and tools
- Travel to various campuses within the district, managing a flexible and varied schedule
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering guidance and training as appropriate
