Job Description
Make an impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired during the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite within a dynamic and collaborative educational setting near Renton, WA, specifically serving a caseload of 8 students with varying service needs.
Youll partner closely with multidisciplinary school teams and families to develop and implement individualized education programs, ensuring students receive tailored support to reach their fullest potential. This part-time schedule is perfect for professionals seeking meaningful, specialized work while maintaining flexibility in their week.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Washington (WA) Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification required.
- Must complete fingerprinting through OSPI.
- Previous experience working as a TVI or with students who have visual impairments is highly valued.
- Strong communication, case management, and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in designing accessible instructional materials and utilizing assistive technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services using evidence-based instructional strategies, proportioned by each students individualized plan.
- Manage a caseload of approximately 8 students, supporting them with weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes (about 15 hours per week).
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals focused on visual impairment needs.
- Work onsite with school staff and caregivers to foster an inclusive learning environment and provide staff training on accessibility.
- Assess student progress and adapt interventions to ensure successful educational outcomes.
