Join Our Team as an Online Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in North Carolina We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide virtual educational services to K-12 students throughout North Carolina. This remote opportunity allows educators to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments through individualized instruction, assistive technology, and collaborative educational planning. Responsibilities
Provide virtual instruction and educational support to students with visual impairments
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and vision-specific goals
Assess student needs and monitor academic progress
Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers
Support students in the use of assistive technology and specialized learning materials
Provide consultation regarding accommodations, modifications, and accessibility needs
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
Participate in virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
Active North Carolina Teaching License or eligibility to obtain licensure
Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Experience working with students with visual impairments
Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills
Reliable internet connection and ability to provide virtual services
Preferred
Master's Degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or related field
Previous experience providing online or teletherapy educational services
Knowledge of Braille instruction and assistive technology tools
Experience with IEP development and implementation
Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and remote instruction strategies
