Job Description

A full-time position is available for a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve students across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This contract role spans the 2026-2027 school year, starting August 10, 2026, and ending May 27, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday.

Location: Raeford, NC
Position Type: Contract, Full-Time
Caseload: Elementary, Middle, and High School students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students in accordance with district guidelines.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments using both formal and informal methods to monitor student progress.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to student needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students across multiple grade levels.
  • Proficiency in assessment techniques and instructional methods specific to visual impairment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
