Make a real impact in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI). This contract position runs full-time from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with standard MondayFriday hours totaling 37.5 hours per week. This role spans elementary, middle, and high school levels, offering you the chance to influence learners across a variety of developmental stages. Three positions are available, providing a collaborative environment with fellow specialists.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a VI Teacher is required
- Experience teaching students who are visually impaired across different age groups
- Strong grasp of instructional methods and adaptation strategies to support diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with ongoing assessment techniques, both formal and informal
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored for visually impaired students at elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate individual student needs in compliance with district guidelines
- Conduct continuous assessments of student progress using a variety of evaluation tools
- Prepare for and participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings to support student success and coordinate services
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to create and monitor individualized educational plans
