Make a real impact in the lives of students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, supporting learners across elementary, middle, and high school levels in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time contract opportunity spans the entire 20262027 school year and offers the chance to collaborate closely with dedicated educators and administrators, ensuring each student receives exceptional guidance and resources.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Visually Impaired Teacher (VI Teacher)
- Experience instructing students who are blind or visually impaired is highly valued
- Proficient in delivering both individual and group instruction, using methods tailored to each students unique needs
- Ability to implement district requirements and individualized educational programs
- Skilled in conducting formal and informal assessments to continually monitor student progress
- Prepared to actively participate and contribute in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students across multiple grade levels, ensuring engagement and personalized growth
- Customize teaching approaches and materials for optimal accessibility
- Complete ongoing assessments to inform instructional planning and enhance academic outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special educators and therapists
- Prepare and participate in all relevant ARD meetings, advocating for student needs
- Maintain detailed documentation, progress reports, and compliance with district protocols
This role offers the chance to work Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, within a supportive school community. You'll have the satisfaction of facilitating meaningful educational experiences and personal growth for visually impaired students from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027.
