Qualifications:
- Virginia Endorsement in Blindness & Visual Impairments (required)
- Experience teaching students who are visually impaired, ideally in a K-12 setting
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Flexibility and readiness to adapt to various school environments
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments, spanning kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Provide assessments and develop appropriate learning materials tailored to student needs
- Foster an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
- Travel between schools within the assigned region
- Participate in situational interviews and professional development opportunities
