Qualifications:
- Current, active Virginia TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) license
- Previous experience as a TVI or working with visually impaired students preferred
- Thorough understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional strategies
- Passion for fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments
- Strong organization and communication skills
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct instruction and modifications to students with visual impairments across levels K-12
- Develop and implement IEPs, collaborating closely with families, teachers, and support staff
- Adapt general education curriculum materials into accessible formats
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and make data-driven instructional decisions
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, parents, and school personnel
