Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Valid Florida DOE Teacher for the Visually Impaired certification
  • Ability and experience teaching Braille
  • Previous experience with a caseload involving direct instruction and consultative services preferred
  • Eligible for district fingerprinting; prior AHCA Clearinghouse prints a plus
  • Passion for working with K-12 diverse learners

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction (12 students/690 service minutes per week) and consultation (2 students) across up to five schools
  • Develop and adapt individualized education plans for visually impaired students
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Travel among assigned campuses to deliver services
  • Maintain meticulous records and support compliance with district policies
