Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a dynamic contract role serving students across five schools in the Port Saint Lucie area. This position offers the rewarding opportunity to provide vital instructional support, helping students with visual impairments develop the skills they need to succeed. Youll work on-site with a diverse student population, providing a blend of direct instruction and consultative services.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current Florida DOE Teacher for the Visually Impaired certification
• Proficiency in teaching Braille
• Comfort working with K-12 students in a school environment
• Experience navigating multi-site assignments preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Successful completion of district fingerprinting requirements (candidates previously fingerprinted with AHCA Clearinghouse may have prints pulled)

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction in Braille and other adaptive techniques for up to 12 direct students, totaling 690 service minutes per week
• Provide consultation and support for two additional students as needed
• Develop and implement tailored learning plans in collaboration with classroom teachers and support staff
• Travel between up to five district schools to meet service requirements
• Maintain accurate records and compliant documentation
• Serve as an advocate and resource for students and families, promoting independence and academic growth
