What You'll Need:
- Valid Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License
- Experience or strong interest in teaching students with visual impairments in K12 settings
- Adaptability and strong communication skills for working across multiple school districts
- Comfort and professionalism with virtual interviews and onboarding processes
- Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are visually impaired, designing and adapting curriculum to meet their unique needs
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and family members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers to support accessibility and inclusion for visually impaired students
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust strategies to maximize learning
- Travel between assigned schools as needed (assignment details and caseload will be finalized prior to placement)
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in visual impairment education
