Job Description

A full-time position is available for a skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), serving multiple campuses near Plano, TX. This contract opportunity runs from July 30, 2026, through May 28, 2027, and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference each day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active TSVI licensure required
  • Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a school setting
  • Strong ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet diverse learning needs
  • Comfortable working independently and traveling between campuses as an itinerant teacher
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of 12-15 students, including a minimum of three homebound learners
  • Serve approximately 6 campuses, with assignments that may shift according to student needs throughout the academic year
  • Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to tailor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct assessments to develop effective strategies and accommodations for each student's unique requirements
  • Support integration and access to general curriculum, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility services as appropriate
  • Document student progress and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with district and state standards
