Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Educator Certification meeting Arizona requirements
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (current and valid)
  • Experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher or in a related position preferred
  • Strong knowledge of individualized instruction techniques for visually impaired students
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and students
  • Ability to adapt general education materials and develop accessible resources

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across grade levels
  • Assess students' skills and needs, developing and updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Provide consultative services to other educators on inclusive teaching strategies and accessibility modifications
  • Adapt and procure instructional materials in braille, large print, and audio formats
  • Monitor progress and document student outcomes in accordance with educational standards
  • Offer orientation and mobility training as appropriate
  • Maintain consistent communication with families and multidisciplinary team members
