Key Qualifications:
- Valid Educator Certification meeting Arizona requirements
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (current and valid)
- Experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher or in a related position preferred
- Strong knowledge of individualized instruction techniques for visually impaired students
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and students
- Ability to adapt general education materials and develop accessible resources
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across grade levels
- Assess students' skills and needs, developing and updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide consultative services to other educators on inclusive teaching strategies and accessibility modifications
- Adapt and procure instructional materials in braille, large print, and audio formats
- Monitor progress and document student outcomes in accordance with educational standards
- Offer orientation and mobility training as appropriate
- Maintain consistent communication with families and multidisciplinary team members
