As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), you'll provide essential expertise and play a vital role in empowering students to achieve their fullest potential.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience teaching or supporting students with blindness or visual impairments in educational settings
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technologies, Braille, and accessible instructional methods
• Competence in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction for students with visual impairments
• Adapt curriculum materials to meet accessibility needs, including Braille and large print
• Assess students' abilities and monitor progress toward IEP goals
• Partner with general education teachers to implement accommodations in mainstream classrooms
• Provide guidance regarding assistive technology, orientation, mobility skills, and daily living adaptations
• Serve as a resource for families, offering strategies and support for learning at home
• Maintain current documentation and participate in IEP meetings
