Job Description

Make a meaningful impact on students lives by providing specialized instruction and support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the upcoming school year. Located near Williamstown, KY, this contract opportunity runs from August 17th, 2026, through May 26th, 2027. With a flexible 25-hour-per-week schedule, youll work directly with students, supporting their educational growth and creating accessible learning environments tailored to their needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Kentucky SPED License with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are blind or have low vision
  • Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology tools for visual impairment
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to develop and adapt curriculum and materials to meet individualized educational plans

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services for students with visual impairments
  • Assess student needs and implement appropriate instructional strategies and modifications
  • Produce and adapt teaching materials, including Braille and large print, to ensure accessibility
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to create supportive learning environments
  • Track student progress, complete documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
