Job Description

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Resourceful, patient, and dedicated to educational advocacy
  • Comfortable adapting teaching methods and materials for accessibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments across K-12 grade levels
  • Assess individual needs and adjust educational strategies accordingly
  • Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers and staff regarding accommodations
  • Collaborate with families to ensure consistent student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary IEP meetings
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment that promotes student independence and confidence

This assignment is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
