Job Description

With 37.5 hours per week across 5 days, youll have the chance to work closely with diverse learners, families, and school professionals to help each student reach their full potential.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License is required
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
  • Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional techniques
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to assess student needs and tailor instruction to support individualized education plans (IEPs)

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, addressing academic and functional needs
  • Develop and implement adaptations, accommodations, and instructional materials
  • Teach Braille and facilitate the use of assistive technology
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Track progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain thorough documentation
  • Advocate for student access and inclusion across all educational settings
