Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments across K-12+ age groups in a full-time contract role beginning August 5, 2026, and running through May 19, 2027. This opportunity offers a flexible, itinerant schedule traveling between schools within a geographically assigned area, aiming to minimize travel time. The caseload consists of a balanced mix of elementary, middle, and high school students, including those in general education as well as students with multiple disabilities in specialized classrooms.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid DOE certification with current credentials
• Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), including knowledge of Braille and assistive technology
• Comfortable accessing assistive technology via the Federal Quota Program (preferred)
• Familiarity with Chromebooks for student use
• Proficiency with the TN Pulse platform for IEP management
• Willingness to complete timely fingerprinting and background checks
• Ability to work both with general education and multi-needs student populations
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to serve multiple sites

Primary Responsibilities:

• Travel between assigned schools to provide direct and consultative services for K-12+ students
• Develop, adapt, and implement instructional materials, including Braille and technology-based resources
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and attend IEP meetings using TN Pulse
• Provide support in both general education and special needs settings
• Guide students use of assistive technology to ensure full access to curriculum
• Maintain thorough records and progress reports, and contribute to student evaluations
