Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technology and instructional materials for visually impaired students
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, therapists, administrators, and families
• Familiarity with Braille instruction and low vision strategies
• Commitment to effective inclusion practices and student-centered learning

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and create tailored lesson plans to facilitate access to the core curriculum
• Deliver direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and the use of assistive technology
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt instructional content and environments
• Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports according to district and state guidelines
• Support students in developing social, self-advocacy, and daily living skills
• Engage in regular communication with families to share progress and resources
