Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Experience working with students with visual impairments across K-12 preferred
Strong knowledge of assistive technology and tools for visually impaired learners
Ability to design and adapt instructional materials in accessible formats
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
Compassionate, creative, and flexible approach to teaching

Role Responsibilities:
Assess student needs and develop individualized instructional strategies
Deliver direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in both classroom and one-on-one settings
Collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure optimal learning outcomes
Implement and train staff on the use of assistive technology, Braille, tactile materials, and other accessible resources
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert insight to educational planning
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
Foster self-advocacy skills and independence for each learner
